A Word from the Dean

The Faculty of Economics and Engineering Management represents a particular higher education institution the activity of which is based on the experience of a large number of university professors, scientists and experts, in the field of business economics and finance, international economics and engineering management in biotechnology.

It is known that in the situation of the increasingly intensive opening of the national economies and their inclusion into the world-flow of money, goods, work and capital it is inevitable for our young experts to be instructed and trained for executing very complex works, duties, tasks, professions and jobs which are required by the changing circumstances in the economy and society nowadays.

By the transition to the market-oriented way of conducting business a row of new questions, that is, unexplored issues are opened in front of the Serbia neconomy in the field of business and rural economy. This is why we introduced six new study-programmes in our Faculty through the curriculum of which we hope to have succeeded to answer many open questions. The plans and programmes of the lectures have a modern concept and are in line with the flow of the developments of economic science, engineering management and with the needs of the practice.

The basis of our programme is the economic philosophy, the so called "economics of offer", and we give primate to the aggregate offer compared to the theory - philosophy of the so called "aggregate demand". The cause of this standpoint is in the fact that in the Republic of Serbia, all net flows are in deficit today. All this points out the problem of "aggregate offer" - creating new value especially by application of knowledge - by synergy of economics and of engineering management in biotechnology (linking economics and technology).

Globalization, yes, with the policy of the "satellite" which uses knowledge in economics and engineering management and the comparative advantages of our location, and together with this advantages also the international division of labour (the technical division of labour - specialization). Only such use of the allocation of the resources ensures the hope of reaching the "Pareto-optimum" - social welfare. Without the balance of the net-flows there is no social welfare. The answer to all these and other open questions is given by our Faculty.

The basic cause and reason of the existence of the Faculty of Economics and Engineering Management is creating experts of high level of knowledge and competence in business economy, international economy and engineering management in biotechnology. Our task is to provide the students with high level of knowledge, skills and capabilities of analytical judgement by respecting the highest academic standards.

The aim is to offer to young people programmes of studies that will enable them to find quickly adequate working places and jobs for which they train and for the performance of which they showed inclination by choosing the adequate study programme. Exactly for this reason the study programmes of the Faculty of Economics and Engineering Management are assembled in a way to include next to the necessary theoretical knowledge also the mandatory professional practice, that enables the students to join the working process directly upon completing their studies.
