The tasks and aims of the Faculty
The basic tasks of the Faculty of Economics and Engineering Management, being the legal successor of the Faculty for Education of Graduated Law Students and Graduated Students of Economics for Foreign Trade, were adjusted to the Law of Higher Education ("Official Gazette of the RS", No. 76/05) and to the determined mission and vision of the Faculty.
The main tasks show social justification and determine the purpose of its existence, they determine the general direction of the activity and they are basis for recognizing the priorities of the higher education institution in its future work:
• Transfer of scientific and professional knowledge in the field of economics and industrial engineering and engineering management
• Developing and promoting science, through interdisciplinary work of scientists of various profiles
• Securing scientific and professional rising generation
• Offering the possibility to individuals to gain under equal conditions high education and to educate themselves their entire lives
• Contributing to forming presumptions for building social knowledge
• Satisfying the needs of users
The basic aims originate from the basic tasks of the Faculty of Economics and Engineering Management and they are adjusted to the determined vision of the Faculty with which the destination, that is the wanted position of the Faculty of Economics and Engineering Management is defined.
The determined basic aims enable the realization of the mission that represents the process of the change from the present state on the way towards the future destination, because they determine concrete results which the Faculty wants to achieve and they represent the basis for the control of its work.
• The widest possible adjustment with the highest national, European and world standards and trends in the field of higher education following the proactive approach
• Realization of the unity of the scientific-research work and education service in the fields of economics and engineering management in biotechnology
• Joining scientific learning and using common resources in the lecturing process and in the scientific research work in the field of economics and engineering management in biotechnology;
• Permanent development and promotion of science through harmonization with the actual scientific and professional knowledge
• Continuous professional development of all employees and scientific research
• Auditing, development of study programmes and innovation of the lecturing process in accordance with the needs of the users and with modern scientific attainments and trends in the development of the educational process in order to enable students to gain adequate scientific and professional knowledge and skills
• Implementation of the best practices of the country and from the world in all fields and processes especially when lecturing, research and management is in question
• Permanent promotion of the management system with quality
• Systematic accompanying and promotion of quality in the following fields: programmes of studies, lecturing processes, scientific research and professional work valuation of students, text-books and literature, resources, non-lecturing support, management
• Establishment of culture of promoting quality on all levels of the Faculty including also the role of students as partners in quality improvement
• Creating confidence into the quality of the Faculty's services through including public in work
• Establishing cooperation, maintenance and expansion of the network with international higher education and other institutions
• Permanent engagement of the Faculty for satisfying the needs of users
On the Faculty the existence of the study programmes within the socio-humanitarian and technical-technological field is justified for the reason of existence of common subjects on the basic studies.
Professors from various scientific fields on the Faculty contribute to wide range of knowledge and to better perception of various strengths and weaknesses of the Faculty, chances and threats in the surroundings, and through the combination of interdisciplinary knowledge they work on promotion of the quality of the institution and on more effective and efficient realization of the aims and tasks of the Faculty.
